"Theater is standing up terrified and convincing people you know what you're doing."

I remember the first time I read that sentence and how it reverberated inside me. I have thought of it often since first reading it 14 years ago.

This morning, while looking for one book, I came across Dorothy Allison's memoir Two or Three Things I  Know for Sure. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend that you do so. It's raw and beautiful and direct, and a very quick read. Seriously, it will only take you a couple hours. It's 94 pages.
