As the world turns

I am sure, if you read/watch/listen to the news, you have heard about the anti-American rioting occurring in the Middle East. This is all a reaction to a poorly made film that denigrates the Prophet Mohammed.

The whole mess smacks of ignorance on all sides. It's all rather baffling. I know this shouldn't be a surprise, but I just don't know how we have all become so divided...not just "over there." But, here too.

It seems like increasingly we are drawing lines to separate us- politically, economically, socially, religiously, ethnically. I choose not to live in that world, in that mind set. But, as I look around, it seems like the majority of people do.

Maybe these types of situations explode because of all the subtle ways we differentiate ourselves from one another. Or, maybe I'm just living in another dimension.
